Hey guys,
Happy Heritage Day! Yesterday was heritage day for us and because it fell on a Sunday we get today off as well. Lucky us! I hope you all had a really fabulous Heritage day and an awesome day off today. I want to ask how your weekend was but many people are still on weekend mode. So for those who don’t have a long weekend, how was your weekend? Do anything fun?
It’s week 39 of the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
The prompt this week is animal and after spending quite some time going through different type of animals I can do on my nails. Eventually it hit me. I need to do animal PRINT! Yeah you guessed it. Leopard print. Let me show you
On my middle and ring finger I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white and let that dry completely. I then started with 2 coats of Butter London – Scuppered on my index and pinky. Once the white was dry I did a sponged gradient on my ring and middle fingers. I used China Glaze – a whole latte fun and China Glaze – Bare attack. Once everything was dry again I did random spot on the gradient using Butter London – Scuppered and then I finished off the leopard print dots using China Glaze – Give me s’more. I topcoated and that was that.
What do you think? I have to admit I didn’t love this. Or at least not the photos. I think this looked SO much better in real life than it does on the photos. I considered going back and redoing this prompt but I ran out of time. How gorgeous is Scuppered though? I’m not sure if that is what makes the leopard print so iffy for me but it certainly is so beautiful on it’s own. The gradient also came out a bit more orange looking (on the photo, not in real life) which might be adding to my meh-ness. Leopard print is always a win for me though so I guess it is kinda ok.
Have a beautiful long weekend if you are lucky enough to have one and if not, I hope your week starts of with a bang!
Thanks for reading,

This looks… ehm… interesting?
Scuppered is gorgeous but I guess you’re right, the peachy gradient makes the leopard print look weird. Oh well, better luck next year? 😉
