Hey hi pretty people,
How has your week been? Can you believe it is already Friday again? The week has been another zippy fly by week and there are NO complaints from me. Do you have fun weekend plans? Let me know so I can live vicariously through you. All I want to do is paint my nails and sleep 😛
It’s time for another Friday Triad with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month it was Joyce’s turn to choose. She chose this post and it frightened me. Needless to say it is gorgeous but the idea of a water marble scared the poop out of me. I might have mentioned before, I don’t mind marking. I just can’t, for the life of me, make pretty patterns. And this required a really pretty marbling pattern. You guys, there were tears. Let me show you what I did.
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and let that dry completely. I then did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – Fresher than my clique, China Glaze – Cutie mark the spot and China Glaze – Treble maker. I topcoated the gradient and let that dry completely again before doing the marble. I did the water marble using Sinful Colors – Snow me white and Essence – absolute pure (a clear polish). I took whatever ‘pattern’ I could get and that was that. Topcoat and some tissues for the tears and I was done.
What do you think? I knew I wanted to do the gradient in different shades (keeping the nude) and I originally considered stamping a water marble patter. Well, I redid this 3 times (once even in shades of pink gradient) and eventually I just gave up and went with what I had. I really tried creating the beautiful marbling pattern but it just did not work. Can anyone point me to a masterclass or something to help with these damn marble patterns? I work so much fast yet my polish is always drier than the videos I watch. ugh, I should just give up on the marbling. So besides that train smash, what do you think?
Don’t forget to check out Joyce and Juanita and see how a water marble is slayed (I’m sure they’re killing it over there). Have a fantastic weekend and I will see you on the other side.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
