Hey guys!
Happy Friday! It’s basically just one big party from now till New Years right? Well for other people maybe. I have way more fun staying home, being comfy and not having to deal with a million other people. What are you doing? Do you have fun plans? Let me know what you’re up to! I can’t believe it’s already New Year and the holidays are coming to an end, the year is done and there are a million new hopes and plans for the next year. I can’t wait!
It’s time for another Friday Triad with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month it was MY turn to choose and man oh man was it interesting. It was actually more of a group effort. I found a photo that I really wanted to do but it wasn’t watermarked and we couldn’t find the original (Joyce went to work with her ninja detective skills too) Eventually Juanita found a pin that was watermarked and similar enough to use instead but again, couldn’t find where it was originally posted. So what I can tell you is that here is the pin with the original nail art and it was created by Nails by Cambria on Instagram. So after all that, let me show you what I did.
I redid this about 5 times. I used gold in every other time I did this and I really loved it (I’ll show you one in the end) but once I used the different colours, I just knew I had to do it. It’s just a few days away from New Years eve and I thought these would be really fun nails for that too. On my index I started with 3 coats of Pure Ice – Strapless. On my middle finger I started with 3 coats of Pure Ice – Keep walking. On my ring finger I started with 2 coats of Pure Ice – Saddle me up and on my pinky I used 2 coats of Essence – Heart explosion. I left it all to dry completely! I then went to work with a combination of tape and vinyls to tape off the triangles and then used Sinful Colors – Black on black to cover the rest of each nail. I topcoated everything and once it was dry I used matte topcoat on just the black parts.
What do you think? It’s quite different from the original colour wise but I think I like it. I also really like the gold and black and like I mentioned, I did try that a few times too. Let me show you how those tuned out.
In the first one I used Starrily – Kind Midas and black except I didn’t love the shape of the triangle. On the second one I used the same polishes with different vinyls and only when it came to looking at the photos did I notice I didn’t matte the black. I can tell you that I stink at making straight lined triangles and it is MUCH harder than it looks. I also did way too many triangles and I won’t be doing them for a while :P. I love the original though and considering how this post is closer to new years than christmas I knew I wanted to choose something that was more ‘party’ than ‘christmas’. Let me know what you think and also what your plans are for new year. I will definitely be home looking after all the animals in case of fireworks. Don’t forget to check out how Joyce and Juanita knock it out of the park.
Thanks for reading and see you on the other side in a brand new year. Stay safe!
Joyce
That’s just fireworks on your nails, love all the colors!
We’ll be staying at home as well. A friend is coming over and we’ll be watching movies the entire evening (and the fireworks in the sky at midnight of course) and snack on whatever we’re going to pick up today… nice and laid back and no pressure at all 🙂

You are toooooo kind!!!
Now that is some new years plans I could totally get behind!! Sounds fabulous!
Juanita
Omw the effort!! I love them all. Even the funny shaped one. I didn’t even bother doing sharps, I suck at doing straight even lines.
We going to friends on new years. Thankfully I’m off on new years day.

Clearly, I suck at everything too 😛
Thank you so much!
I hope you had a beautiful time.
