a few weeks ago I saw this post by @ms_kensington on instagram and I fell in love. I was completely inspired. I knew that one of the things I loved the most was the colours she used but I didn’t want to use the same colours and I immediately thought of orange. Yes, I don’t know why either. So let me show you what I did.
I used striping tape on my middle and ring fingers and then added 2 coats of OPI – Toucan do it if you try on all my nails. I made sure to remove the tape as soon as each nail was painted so that the polish didn’t have time to dry. I then used a fan brush and these flakies from Born Pretty Store and tried to place them a bit more randomly between the 2 negative space lines on my middle and ring fingers. I then topcoated everything and ta-daaa!
Even though I really like how it turned out I think the original is just gorgeous! I am always careful of negative space because I do have some staining on my nails but I think these thin lines are ok. What do you think? How do you feel about negative space nail art? I like it but I am very aware of when it is too much for me. I also like how these gold / pink flakies look on the orange. What other colour combinations should I try next? I have an idea but wouldn’t mind some input.
