Hi lovelies,
It’s finally Friday!!! It’s been a bit of a tough week for me. I am waiting for some results to come through and the waiting has just got me super stressed. Of course, it’s been a busy week too so bring on the weekend!!! Do you have any weekend plans? It is spring cleaning weekend for us at home but other than that I am doing nothing but relax!
I know I mention it often but this is another case of the ‘the polish happened to be on my desk’. Does it happen to any of you? I was getting ready to do my nails and I saw this polish. I thought I would swatch it and see what happens from there. Then I get an idea of something that will work with it. Then another colour. Before I know it I have some nail art happening. Let me show you what I came up with and then the polish that started it all.
I started with 2 coats of Color Club – With abandon on my pinky and index and 1 coat of Essence – I still believe in santa claus on my middle and ring fingers. Once it was all completely dry I did a gradient on my ring and middle fingers using Color Club – With abandon and Essence – I still believe in santa claus. The gradient really brought out the gold in With Abandon so I felt it needed a bit more to bring it together. After checking in with the girls I decided to stamp over the gradient using Lina – License to be sexy 01 and Mundo de unas – Black. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I was a little unsure about the gradient at first because the polish looked so different once it was used in the gradient and I wasn’t sure if it worked. I think the stamping brought it all together though. What do you think? Does it work? I know this is probably more appropriate for autumnor winter but it has a bit of a glam feeling so will also work really well for an event I think. Let me show you some swatches of
Color Club – With abandon
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a black base with gold glitter and flakes. It applies beautifully and has a really nice opacity as well. I always worry that polishes like this will just look black when you wear it but this one is a star. The gold really shows up well and once you hit light it’s beautiful! I don’t know why I took so long to give this one a try but I am so glad I did. It’s gorgeous.
What do you think of the polish? Do you have it or anything like it?
Thanks for reading,
Cindi
I love that base polish. Those golden flecks… so pretty.

Thanks so much Cindy. I agree, that base polish is gorgeous. It just makes me want to go a party.

Beautiful! The stamping really pulls everything together 🙂
I don’t think I would have ever thought of combining those colors but it looks gorgeous!

Thanks so much! I wasn’t very sure if it would work to be honest. I actually asked a few girls in the secret santa WhatsApp group and until I added that stamping it was very touch and go. 😉
