Hey hi guys,
Happy Friday! My week has been a little insane and if I didn’t have some work done in advance I have no idea how I would’ve gotten through this week. How has your week been?
I have been trying to man up and try new things and try all the amazing new techniques that seems to be popping up everywhere lately. I would usually keep trying till I either get it right or give up but this time is interesting. I was blown away by this post on instagram and I knew I had to try it immediately. I did it and I quite liked the result except that it doesn’t quite look the same. I figured it still looked good enough. Then I looked at the photos. I think it looked so much better in real life but I am not sure if it shows in the photos. I am showing you this fail anyway….
I started with 2 coats of Color Club- Silver lake and left that to dry completely. I then used a cup of water and the ‘technique’ with China Glaze – DJ blue my mind. I then applied each layer trying to change the angle on the nail. I topcoated and that was that.
Like I said, I like the way this looked when I looked at my nails but when I look at the photos I am not sure if the effect shows enough. I think it looks almost like a soft sheer fabric draped over something. Almost like a veil (hence the post title 😉 ) I think this i much a fun technique though and I can’t wait to try it again. Even though it looks almost like you need to water marble, it is nothing like it. It’s so much easier. What do you think? Are you going to try it? Have you tried it? Let me know! Have a fabulous weekend guys and see you on the other side
Thanks for reading,

It does look a little like a very thin veil, but whatever you call it, it’s really pretty!
Just wondering, doesn’t it feel bumpy where the polish is pulled together?
Michelle Roberts
Yay! Thanks so much! I actually expected it to be very uneven and expected to need at leat 2 coats of topcoat to even it out but it was surprisingly not. I think once it sits on the nail the ‘folds’ melt together because the polish is a little tacky still. Once I topcoated it was smooth! I was actually so fascinated by the whole thing.

I think it’s very pretty and doesn’t sound too complicated to do.

Thank so much! It was actually really easy. Nothing at all like water marble and no time pressure either 😉
