Hello lovelies,
Haaaappy Friday! Today is public holiday / Easter Friday. I have absolutely nothing planned except doing a lot of nothing and maybe play with some nail goodies. It’s a delicious long weekend so I am really excited to just veg at home. Of course, there is parkrun on Saturday but that’s ok too. Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I know it is also school holidays and a lot of people are going away. If you are travelling, please stay safe.
It’s time for another Friday Triad with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month it was Juanita’s turn to choose and boy did she throw me for a loop. She chose this ridiculously gorgeous design by @urbannailart and my mind was blown. I was really scared because this is just so beautiful and there is no way I could make something look that pretty. So let me show you what I managed to scrape together.
I started with 2 coats of ILNP – Iconic on all my nails and left that today completely while I started work on the stamping. I stamped the flowers from BP-L029 with Mundo de Unas – Black. I removed some of the image to leave just a few flowers alone. I then coloured those flowers in using China Glaze – Accent piece for the middle and then a combination of Sinful Colors – Big daddy and Nubar – Hollywood pink to fill in the flowers. I initially just did the middle of the flower like the original but it didn’t quite look right so I opted to colour in a bit more but without going up to the edges. I then stamped the leaves on BP-L066 separately with Mundo de Unas – Black. I coloured each one in using a combination of Pure Ice – Saddle me up and L.A Girl – Head banging. Once everything was dry I applied the flowers first to my middle and ring finger and then added a few leaves randomly around them. I topcoated everything and ta-daaaah
Of course it is nowhere near as gorgeous, intricate or detailed as the original. I knew that I wanted to keep the basic idea but also change it up as much as I could with the colours etc. I don’t hate what I did but the minute I compare it with the original I can see it is seriously lacking. It seems super dull in comparison. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out Joyce and Juanita, I am so excited to see what they come up with!
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
