Helo lovelies,
Happy Monday! I swear this weekend just whizzed by! Did you have a good weekend? Do anything fun? We watched The Avengers yesterday but other than that it was just normal weekend stuff. Good and relaxing but normal. It went by really quickly though but I am ready to get this week started!
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is gold and green and I must be honest, my first thought was something with the South African sports teams and those are our colours. I have spent a good few days thinking about what to do with this prompt and it finally just kind of fell in my lap. Let me show you what I did first,
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Baroque jungle on all my nails and left that to dry completely. On my pinky I added 1 coat of China Glaze – Big hair & bubbly. On my ring finger I did a glitter gradient using Big hair & bubbly again. On my middle and index finger I stamped using Lina – Twirls & swirls 1 and Mundo de Unas – Light gold. I then stamped the corresponding ‘swirly’ image using the same plate and Mundo de Unas – Green. I topcoated and that was that.
I am not sure I like this. You can see that I obviously did this way back before the nail break and at the time I was just glad to have gotten it done before. I feel like it’s a bit all over the place. I stumbled on this accidentally when I initially started this with silver instead of gold. I actually loved this green polish so much that I just had to use it. As soon as I started with silver I remembered this prompt so I changed the silver to gold and hoped it would work out. I wish I had either done all glitter with the accent twirls and swirls or all twirls and swirls and less glitter. What do you think? Which part works better? Let me show you this beautiful polish that just had to be used,
China Glaze – Baroque jungle
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a gorgeous dark emerald green with beautiful shimmer. The formula is fantastic and is almost a one coater. I absolutely love this polish and I have no idea why I don’t have more like it. Actually, as I wrote that, I realise I have so many gorgeous greens that I need to use more.
Have you got this polish or one similar? What is your favourite green polish?
Thanks for reading,
