Hello lovely folks,
It’s finally downhill to the weekend! How has your week been so far? We went back to our personal trainer yesterday for our first session in a few weeks and needless to say my arms are a little tender today. It isn’t as bad as I expected though. Today our doggie is getting spayed and I am a nervous wreck even though I am sure everything will be just fine. I am just looking forward to the weekend so I can sleep in and do little. Here’s hoping! 😉
We had a huge discussion in our Secret Santa WhatsApp group about a specific IG video and how it was done. After a bunch of backwards and forwards, suggestions and ideas along with a LOT of comment stalking, I thought I would give it a try. I can now say that I still don’t know how it was done but I already had the powder base so I figured I may as well use it. So let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of Nubar – Noir on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then used the Chrome chameleon powder from Born Pretty Store (item number 38616 colour 08) on my index, middle and ring fingers. I then immediately stamped on my middle and ring finger using Lina Feeling Shapely 07 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I didn’t topcoat anything because I really like it and I was trying out a little experiment. That was that!
So the experiment I was trying was about topcoat. I always find that the topcoat really dulls the powder especially the chrome aspect. I didn’t topcoat here but once I was done taking photos I did topcoat the nails with powder and this is what I found. I topcoated my ring finger using a water based topcoat, I topcoated my index finger with a gel topcoat and I left my middle finger untouched. Visually, there was a bit of dulling with the two topcoated ones but when I took a photo I didn’t really notice a huge difference. By the next morning however, I could barely tell the difference on my actual nails either. So I suspect that over time it evens out eventually and it makes no difference. That being said, I really like these powders from Born Pretty Store. They are really potent and work on regular polish without much effort. I really like the shift of this particular one. What do you think? The stamping makes me think of glitter placement so now I am inspired to try that too. 😀
