Hello lovelies,
How was your weekend? Ready for the week? My weekend was pretty good even though uneventful. Just what I needed. I got a lot of stuff done and besides a LOT of swatches coming your way soon I so thrilled to have caught up on a lot of admin. I am ready for this week! At least right now I am. I might feel differently by this afternoon 😛
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is favourite hero and it was a toughie. We don’t have a lack of ‘movie’ heroes so choosing is already tough. Then I considered going deep and doing a real life person that has become a hero to me. In the end I went with something I liked AND could actually translate to my nails. Let me show you what I did.
I decided to go with Merida from the movie Brave. I know, I know….technically she is a princess but in my opinion she is a hero too. I really love the movie and I really love her so here we are. I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Sunset seeker on my ring finger and 2 coats of China Glaze – Baroque jungle not he rest of my nails. I then did a stamped smoosh on my ring finger using China Glaze – Sunset seeker and China Glaze – Flame-boyant. While that was drying I stamped on the rest of my nails using BM-H05 and Mundo de Unas – Gold to stamp the irish knot like pattern on the tips. These nails are to represent her dresses. Once the smoosh was dry, I stamped over that with Moyra 32 – Nature and Mundo de Unas – Geranium. This was to represent Merida’s hair. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I actually like this a lot more than I expected to. I hope it does a good job of representing Merida. What do you think? Who would you have chosen for this prompt?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I try to not look at your posts for the 52 Week challenge until I’ve done mine, but boy was I glad I noticed your nails in my feed… yep, totally stole the idea!
I didn’t read your post until now though and woman, you did great! I absolutely love this!! I actually guessed it was ‘the girl from Brave’ by just that one picture I saw 🙂
Michelle Roberts
Yay! You have no idea how much that means to me. I was so uncertain about it and if it would translate well and then you go and make it all better! Thank you!
