Hey guys,
Happy Friday! Finally. It has been a pretty good week even though it has been busy. Every month just keeps getting busier and busier. Speaking of, happy JUNE! Whaaaat!! It’s insane. I feel like I am still ‘recovering” from Christmas holidays and here we are almost half way through the year. What is this? Anyway, how has your week been? Do you have any weekend plans?
I love chevrons. I love zigzags and all kinds of shapes too but chevrons are so stunning and versatile. You can do so much with them. Of course, when I saw this post by Sveta Sanders I was completely inspired. I struggled to decide which colours to use but I knew I wanted to use China Glaze – High def. Let me show you what I came up with and also a swatch.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Sand in my mistletoes on all my nails and left that to dry completely. While it was drying I went to work and made some decals. I stamped using Lina – Feeling shapely 01 and Mundo de Unas – Gold. I then coloured in sections of chevron using China Glaze – High def and China Glaze – Intelligence, integrity & courage. I left the middle chevron open. Once the decals were all done and dry I applied them to my middle and ring fingers. On my index and pinky I used just one line of chevron and kept China Glaze – High def on the tips. I topcoated and voila!
I was a little unsure about the colour combo at first but as I wore it the more I liked it. High def reminds me of denim and I just loved having it on the tips. I have a swatch too so let me show you
China Glaze – Sand in my mistletoes
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a nude creme with a peachy pink undertone. It has a nice formula with a good opacity. Theres nothing really wrong with it but I have better nudes with better formula in my stash. It’s still a nice colour. This one is from the Seas and greetings collections. I will be swatching that collection as well while I am on this swatching kick.
What do you think? Do you like chevrons too? What colours should I have used with this idea? Let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
I think you may be on a chevron kick too! I love sand in my mistletoes! Ugh the whole design is pretty and the colours totally go together.
