Hello hey hi,
Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a really great week! I am looking forward to the weekend for no reason other than sleeping in and doing only what I want (yeah right 😉 ) It is the Comrades Marathon this weekend which means on Sunday we won’t be leaving the house for anything. Most of the road closures just make it impossible. Maybe I’ll lie on the couch and watch them run for the whole day. Do you have any weekend plans?
It’s no secret that I love leopard print right? I don’t wear leopard print but my polish room is littered with leopard print bits and bobs. I love leopard print on my nails and while looking at previous nail art I did (specifically 31DC2014 and 31DC2015) and I noticed quite a bit of leopard print. I also realised I hadn’t done leopard print in a while and when I saw this purple polish I knew it was time to rectify that. Let me show you what I did and the gorgeous polish.
I started with 2 coats of Essence – Whisper of spring on my index and middle nail and 2 coats of China Glaze – Purple fiction on my pinky. On my ring finger I did half and half of both but I dd it freehand so that the edge looked like it might’ve been torn instead of a taped straight edge. Once everything was dry I used the brush of China Glaze – Purple fiction and made random dots on the lighter shade of Essence – Whisper of spring. I then used my thinnest dotting tool and Nubar – Noir to make the borders of the leopard print spots. I topcoated and ta-daah!
I wish the purple wasn’t as dark in the leopard print so you could see it better but I hope it is enough of a contrast to be visible. How gorgeous is this purple though? Let me show you
China Glaze – Purple piction
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a royal purple with violet shimmer. It makes the polish look metallic / lit from within and it is beyond gorgeous. It also has a beautiful formula and in one coat you get phenomenal coverage. I adore this shade! Let me show you up close
What do you think? How do you feel about leopard print? What do you think of this gorgeous purple? Let me know if you want to see it compared to anything.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
