Hello hey hi,
Have you had a good week so far? I’m still snotty so it’s a bit miserable in my pity party but otherwise it’s been ok. It’s been super cold too which is awesome!
When you have a great idea and it just goes south very fast, what do you do? Well, you turn it around and find another way to salvage the situation 😛 I might still get to try my original idea at some point but for now, I had to whip up something a little different but based on the original idea. Basically, it’s a bit of a fail and I don’t know how to feel about it. I hover between loving it and feeling all the doubt. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – At your athleisure on al my nails and left that to dry completely. Once it was dry I taped off my index and pinky leaving the centre exposed. I then applied the nail flakies from Born Pretty Store (it used to be item code 38769 but it seems to now be item code 39759) to the exposed middle line. I removed the tape and used a thin nail art brush to make the black border on either side of the flaky lines. Thanks to some input from my girls, I decided to just use the nail art brush with Nubar – Noir and make different length horizontal lines on my ring and middle nail. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I’m so torn. I wish the flakies showed up more and make more of a shift in colour (which it did in real life – at least enough to be noticeable) but I am not sure it translated well. I like it but it feels like a bit of a fail. What do you think? What should I have changed? If only I can get the picture in my head onto my nails so you can see what I saw 😛
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
It look cute but I think you’re right about the flakies. A more dramatic color shift would probably have made all the difference.

Thank you! I think I should try something similar with more contrasting flakies. I have so much regretskis now.
