52 week nail art challenge – Week 33: Houndstooth

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? It was a suuuuuuper long weekend and even though it was amazing I am ready to get back to normal scheduling.  I am ready to take on this week!  What about you?

Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio.  As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.

The prompt this week is houndstooth.  I love the pattern and I am always drawn to it but I don’t think I have ever done it on my nails.  I always feel like I don’t do it justice when I do it on my nails so this was going to be interesting.  Let me show you what I did,

I started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – Rare as rubies on my index and middle finger and 2 coats of China Glaze – Bump in the night on my pinky and ring finger.  I left those to dry completely and then I stamped the houndstooth on my index and middle finger using BPL-041 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I topcoated my index and middle finger and left the texture alone.

I am not sure if the houndstooth over such a glitter bomb was a good idea and I am still not sure if I actually pulled it off but what do you think? I do like the red and black combination and these polishes are really gorgeous too.  At least it is houndstooth and this prompt is now done and dusted 😛
