31DC2018: Day 13 – Animal print

Hey guys,

I am so looking forward to the weekend.  Turns out the reason why I have been feeling a little miserable is because there may be some germs festering.  Ugh. I need a nap and a cake 😉

Of course you expected some leopard print for this prompt right? I actually was going to go a different route but this is another idea I wanted to try and I figured I would just take advantage of this prompt.  Let me show you what I did.

I started with 2 coats of OPI – DS Classic on all my nails and let that dry completely.  I then used my smallest dotting tool and Sinful Colors – Black on black to make freehand leopard print on all my nails.  I topcoated this to let it dry faster and then I used French tip guides vertically on my nails.  I used Sinful Colors – Black on black and removed the guide immediately.  Once the black had dried down a little,  I used a matte topcoat to mattify the black and that was that.

I was convinced I had a stamp for the small leopard print but I could not find it at ALL when I was looking for it.  It was actually why I had this idea to begin with so I am super confused.  Either way, I quite liked it.  I hope it looks enough like leopard print and that it works like this.  What do you think? In hindsight I probably would’ve done the black matte first and then did the leopard print over the gold and the matte black in glossy black.  I’ll have to try it again.
