31DC2018: Day 25 – Inspired by fashion

Hello lovelies,

It’s a nice short week thanks to the holiday but that also means today is fake Monday.  Let’s do this!

The prompt today is Inspired by fashion.  I often see people doing fashion inspired nails and it blows my mind because it’s so amazing.  This time, I thought I’d give it a shot too.  Choosing something was difficult of course but my cousin came to play when she sent me this.

This gorgeous dress is what Blake Lively wore to the Met Gala in 2017.   How could I not be inspired by it right? Let me show you what I did,

I started with 2 coats of ILNP – Fame.  While that was drying I started working on the feathers.  I stamped using Lina – Make your mark 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I didn’t want the full nail image so I isolated the feathers and used them individually.  I used China Glaze – Capacity to see beyond for the lighter blue feathers and China Glaze – Born to rule for the darker blue feathers.  Once they were all dry I started layering them, the darker over the lighter.  I topcoated and that was that.

I can’t decide if the darker blue was too dark and if there is enough of a contrast.  I really liked wearing this though and hopefully you can see it was inspired by the dress.  What do you think?
