Friday Triad – Inspired by Bedizzlenails

Hey guys,

Have you had a good week so far? It seems that summer has finally arrived in full force and I am already melting.  I think I am done and winter can come on back again.  I’m sorry but I am just not a summer person.  Other than that, this week has been rather productive for me.  I did get a few things done that has been at the bottom of my to-do list for a while so that makes me happy.  Now I can paint my nails all weekend long without feeling guilty.  Do you have any fun weekend plans?

It’s time for another Friday Triad with  Juanita and Joyce .  So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post.  You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month.  This month it was Joyce’s turn to choose and she chose this design.   I was very surprised by her pick to be honest but it turns out she had a bit of helps with that (thanks hubby) Unfortunately it seems the blog and social media accounts are no longer so this is all we have to link to.  Let me show you what I did

I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Recycle and left that to dry completely.  I then did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – Recycle and China Glaze – Summer reign.  I topcoated and left it to dry completely again.  I used a small piece of sponge and black to make some darker ‘ground’ shapes on each nail and then I went to work with stamping.  For the trees on my pinky and index I used BP-L015 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I then stamped the gravestones and bats using BPL-031 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  The hand coming ‘out of the ground’ is stamped using BM-H08 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  Finally, it was time for he pumpkins.  I stamped using BPL-031 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I then used Essence – Orange to go for the eyes and mouth.  Once it was dry I placed them on my index and pinky.  I topcoated and once it was dry, I used a matte topcoat and called it a day.

I was really intimidated at first when I saw the inspiration but I actually really enjoyed this.  Once I had done the gradient I was already in love. I really like the purple instead of the blue.  Once I found all the images I wanted to use and I could see it coming together I really liked it.  What do you think?  Does it work?  I of course have a glossy version to show you as well but for me this worked in the matte
