Hey lovelies,
Welcome to December. Yup, it is holiday time. Ok not quite but that’s what everyone is thinking about right? Did you have a good weekend?
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is Summer and it is a bit of a double edged sword for me. I am not a fan of summer. I don’t like the heat. I would rather be cold than hot. I do however like summer nail art. Seeing as we are here for the nails I will stop complaining about the heat and just show you what I did on my nails 😉
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors on all my nails and left that to dry completely. Once it was dry I did a sponged gradient on my pinky and index using China Glaze – Lemon fizz, China Glaze – Too yacht to handle and China Glaze – That’s shore right. Once the gradient was dry I stamped on my index using Lina – Summer 01 and Mundo de Unas – Black. On my ring finger I stamped using Lina – Summer 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then coloured in the ice cream cones using China Glaze – A whole latte fun and alternated the ice cream with China Glaze – Peachy keen, China Glaze – Spring jungle and China Glaze – Are you orchid-ing me?. On my middle finger I started with some dry brush using those same colours and then I stamped the slops using Lina – Summer 01 and Mundo de Unas black and alternating them with the same colours. I topcoated everything and that was that.
This is really a collection of summer items. Bright colours, sun bleached colours, sunnies and slops and treats. I did the dry brush on my middle nail because I wasn’t sure what I was going to do there at first so I hope it doesn’t distract too much. Do you think it is better without (like on my ring finger) or is it barely noticeable? Does this remind you of summer? Let me know what you think and also, are you a summer or winter person?
Thanks for reading,
