Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is unicorn and I feel like that is JUST for me. I know I know, everyone loves unicorns. I was all ready to stamp using some of my unicorn plates and all my unicorn polishes but then I saw something amazing. I wish I could credit the right person but I saw a glimpse of it during an unrelated google search and I haven’t been able to find it since. If you know who to credit please let me know. (it looked much better than my version too). Anyway, let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – I sea ponies on my middle and ring finger and 2 coats of Picture Polish – Unicorn on my index and pinky. Once it was all dry I went to work with a thin nail art brush and Sinful Colors – Black on black. I made the ears, eyes and lashes. I then used a piece of sponge and Picture Polish – Unicorn to dab some between and around the ears for the ‘mane’. I went back to the thin brush and China Glaze – Best ponies forever to add a hint of gold around the ears. I topcoated everything and while the topcoat was still tacky, I added a gold spike studs from Born Pretty Store for the horn.
I wish I did a better job but it’s not too bad for a non freehand person right? Does it at least resemble unicorns? I am also obsessed with the Unicorn polish so I feel like that is a win anyway. Let me know what you think,
