Hey guys,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I didn’t do much but we had a crazy storm last night and that was not fun. I have also decided to move the polish room around a bit this coming weekend so this week will be spent packing up everything when I have spare moments. What did you get up to?
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is ocean and I will honest and admit I was not feeling this prompt at all. There are a million ways to interpret ocean and maybe the was the problem. Nothing seemed cohesive enough. I knew I would probably use a polish with an ocean-ish name. Let me show you what I did and then what it’s meant to be 😉
I started with 2 coats of Essence – Ahoy boy on my pinky and index and 2 coats of Essence – Splash on my middle and ring finger. Once it was completely dry I stamped on my middle and ring using Lina – Born to sail 02 for random shark and dolphin images and Mundo de Unas – Joy. I then stamped the water over that using BM-509 and Mundo de Unas – Pastel blue. I then applied 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Green ocean over my index and pinky, topcoated and voila!
I wanted the fish images to look like shadows in the deep waters but I am not sure if it translates well. It is a whole bunch of gorgeous polishes though and the green ocean over the dark blue looks incredible. What do you think? How would you translate ocean for this prompt?
