Hey hi hello,
Did you have a good weekend? It has been raining non stop here for just over a day. It’s glorious but it is also terrifying. I have such a fear of huge rains. Water natural disasters are terrifying to me. I know it is irrational and I actually love rain. It’s the heavy constant rain that scares me. Anyway, it’s cooler and I am grateful for that.
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is water marble. You guys, it didn’t go well. I am generally not very lucky with water marbles (I don’t hate it, I just don’t do well with it) but this time it really kicked my butt. I tried numerous combinations and colours and eventually I just couldn’t anymore. It’s definitely a case of water marble 1 – 0 me. Let me show you the best of the attempts.
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my middle and ring fingers, 2 coats of China Glaze – That’ll peach you on my index and 2 coats of China Glaze – Chalk me up on my pinky. Once everything was completely dry I went to work on the marble. I used That’ll peach you and Chalk me up. I topcoated and then weeped for a while.
How do you feel about water marble? Please tell me your secrets. Any tips and tricks? I don’t hate this attempt but I think I was just so frustrated with all the struggles. I’ve had times where I could nail it the first time but man oh man. Some days are the worst. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I think you still did a great job!
To put it delicately: I’ve done just a few water marbles and it’s not my favorite technique 😉
I love the combination of baby blue and orange… have to remember that one!

Ah thanks Joyce. I can’t say I am a big fan of water marble but I am just too damn stubborn to quit it.
