Hey loves
I hope you had a splendirific weekend! If you’re in SA you’ve probably been battling with all the load shedding going on. It’s really the pits. It’s fine when it is in the day, life kinda just goes on and it gives you time to be outdoors and do something different. We have been mostly at night though and I hate it. I can’t sleep when it is that quiet (or that dark…shhhh) and it’s been super hot too. Here’s hoping for a better and productive week ahead!
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
Can you believe we are in double digit weeks already? It feels like we just started this challenge and here we are in week 11 already. The prompt this week is chevron and I just love it. Soooo many ideas and options. Of course, I also had my Dollish Polish stash in front of me so it seemed like a perfect time to whip out one of those with some chevron. Let me show you what I did and then a swatch
I started with 2 coats of Dollish Polish – Nobody puts Baby in a corner and left that to dry completely. I then stamped a chevron on my tips using Lina – Feeling shapely 09 and first Mundo de Unas – sorbet and then again with Mundo de Unas – Lilac, leaving a small line of the green visible. I topcoated and that was that.
My skin looks terrible but I wanted to show off the polishes more. I quite liked the chevron stamping and I am quite proud that I got the double stamping to line up quite well. I chose these colours (or more specifically, the secret Santa ladies helped me choose these colours) based on the beautiful flakes in the polish. Let me show you
Dollish Polish – Nobody puts Baby in a corner
This is 2 coats with topcoat. This is obviously based on the movie Dirty Dancing and is described as a soft rose pink with intense gold shimmer, and loaded with pink/gold/green color-shifting iridescent flakes. You guys, the flakes in this is just breathtaking. I know it is described as having pink/gold/green colour shifting flakes but there is a flash of lilac as well. If you want to grab it for yourself you can get the full size here or the mini size here.
What do you think? Do you think I paired the right colours with this polish? Do the chevrons work? What do you think of the polish? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I’m glad you didn’t cover up the base.
Usually I’m not that much into iridescent flakies but it simply works in this polish.
I’m not sure if I would have combined it with lilac though, I probably would have gone for burgundy/wine red.

Dohhh… and I totally forgot to add that your stamping is awesome!

Ahhh thank you! I was quite proud of lining them up 🙂

Urgh, you see. You always come up with such great ideas! I was thinking pastels but now I am regretting not going burgundy / wine red!
