Comparison: China Glaze – Grover it vs ILNP – Downpour

It’s been a bit of a hectic week but I am so glad it is weekend. Not that it will be less hectic but at least it’s weekend right ;). How was your week?

You all know by now that I really enjoy comparisons. It’s very seldom that I do a comparison and find a real dupe or that they are so similar that you don’t need both. Last week when I showed you the China Glaze x Sesame Street – You do hue collection I immediately got a request for a comparison and it actually made me very excited. Let’s get straight to it.

On my index and pinky I have 2 coats of China Glaze – Grover it and on my middle and ring finger I have 2 coats of ILNP – Downpour. These two are almost identical. of course, there are some subtle differences. Grover it is a bit more opaque than Downpour even though on 2 coats it wouldn’t make a difference. For me, Downpour has a slightly more violet shimmer but it is a very slight difference. The holo glitter in Downpour is also slightly more prominent. I want to say more holo but I think it appears just more on the surface and is a slight bit more visible in regular light. This is really being very specific because as you can see, you couldn’t tell these difference by just looking at it. In fact, I even have a flash shot to show you
