Hello lovelies,
Today is a public holiday but I think so many people are on holiday already. I hope you’re having a great day either way. My weekend was hectic so I could definitely use the down time.
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image
Before I get to the post for this week, I just wanted to also (again) share the prompt list for next year.
Even though this year is almost done, I still have a few to go so let’s get back to it. The prompt this week is black & white. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do but I kept thinking of marble. Then I was browsing for halloween nail art in October and I saw this gorgeous work of art from @stick_it_to_them_nails and I fell in love. I showed it off the group and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them. I knew they would be a great idea for the Black and white prompt and even thought to pair it with marble. So here we are. Let me show you.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Dark room on my ring finger and pinky and 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Wisp on my middle and index. I topcoated the black with matte topcoat and while that was drying I did a smoosh on my middle and index using Sinful Colors – Dark room and Sinful Colors – Wisp. I used just a drop of black with more white. I topcoated that and then used a gel topcoat to make the droplet shapes on the black. Cured that and voila.
I obviously didn’t do nearly as good a job as Zoe did but I didn’t hate the result. I always struggle with the stark contrast between black and white when it comes to photos but I really like the white smoosh marble effect. I will definitely be trying the black again, maybe even in different colours. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
Uhm… eh… let’s just say these are so not me 😉
I love textured nails but I guess I draw the line at bumpy.
Looking at the inspiration you did a great job though!

Hahahaha thank you! It was actually quite fun to wear. I kept running my fingers over the bumps to feel it but it is definitely not everyones thing.
