Hey hello hi,
This week is flying by but mostly because I have spent it in a haze. How is your week going?
It’s time for the next instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This has now also been opened up on the aforementioned Facebook group so the inspiration will be shared there one month before the due date. Hopefully there will be a few more new faces joining in as well.
This month it was my turn to choose. I chose this image.
After I shared it Ren mentioned that I am doing hearts again. I didn’t even realise that I was doing it but here we are with more hearts ;). I promise the next time won’t have any hearts at all. In the mean time, let me show you what I did,
I started with 1 coat of OPI – Was it all just a dream on all my nails. Once it was completely dry, I did a smoosh using OPI – Was it all just a dream and Sinful Colors – Snow me white. I used a very little bit of white because I just wanted a slight bit of ‘cloud’. While that was drying I started with the hearts. I stamped using Moyra – 58 Step by step and Mundo de Unas – Black to stamp the heart. I then filled it in with OPI – Pink ladies rule the school. Once that was dry I applied one on my middle finger and one on my index. I then used a thin nail art brush and black to make a thin line for the string from each heart. I then used white to make a little highlight mark on each heart. I topcoated and voila.
I liked this much more on my nails than in the photos but I am not sure why. I did quite like how the smoosh made the ‘clouds’ look. What do you think? Does it work?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I think it works, and it represents the inspiration perfectly! 🙂
