Hey guys,
I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I am not really here and made sure to schedule this post in time. I popped over to surprise my cousin for her birthday (I hope I pulled it off) and I know I am having the best time with her and her family. Happy birthday Jamcj!!!! <3
Time for the next prompt of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image
The prompt this week is beach and I wasn’t super thrilled about it. I didn’t have a great time with the ocean prompt last year and I seem to just be stuck with the ocean / beach themes. Maybe I have just run out of ideas 😛 Regardess of my hesitation, I managed to whip something together. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Cabana fever on my pinky, ring and middle finger and 2 coats of China Glaze – I’l sand by you on my index. Once it was all dry I used a fan brush to do a gradient using China Glaze – Cabana fever (at the tip), China Glaze – Water-falling in love and China Glaze – Mer-made for bluer water. I topcoated that and waited for it to dry again. Once it was dry I used the brush from China Glaze – I’ll sand by you to you mark off a section on my middle nail. I wanted to look more beachy where the sand meets the water. I then took China Glaze – 50 shimmering years and wiped the brush almost dry. I added a smidge of random strokes of glitter on the nude part to give it a bit more of a sandy look. While that was a drying I stamped the shell and starfish using BM-S403 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I used China Glaze – Snow way for the shell and China Glaze – Don’t be sea salty for the starfish. I then applied these to the ‘beach’ part where it meets the ‘water’. I then stamped the footprints ‘in the sand’ using BM-608 and Mundo de Unas – Caramel. I topcoated everything and tah-dah!
I didn’t think I was going to like anything I could come up with for this prompt but surprisingly, I didn’t hate it. I actually quite liked the fan brush gradient for the water. I also tried to use mostly polishes with Sea, ocean or water names. What do you think? Can you see my version of beach?
