Hey guys,
I hope you had a good weekend. I know the world is a little crazy right now and I hope we are all doing our part to stay safe.
Time for the next prompt of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image
The prompt this week is half moon. I don’t really do a lot of half moon nail art. I like it enough on other people but I don’t think I do it much justice when I try it. I had to brainstorm a little and then I remember a suggestion I gave someone else when this prompt came around last time. I went hunting and saw this post by @xbea_nails on instagram and I knew I had it. The perfect inspiration. So let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Cutie mark the spot on all my nails. Once that was completely dry I grabbed a thin nail art brush and started to freehand. That’s right. I freehanded. I used China Glaze – Flame-boyant to make the half moons for the body of the ladybug. I then used Sinful Colors – Dark room to do the ‘head’, the feelers and the middle section. I then used a small dotting tool to make the dots and the eyes. I topcoated and voila!
Ok, so my freehand skill isn’t that great. Some of the ladybugs are a bit lopsided and the lines could be a bit clearer but I didn’t hate the result. I thought the ladybugs would be a super cute idea and I am glad it at least resembled ladybugs. I was also really inspired by the original colour scheme so I love the green with the bright red. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
This looks great! I think the unclear lines add to the cuteness of it all.

This is just adorable! Remind me to NOT show this to my nieces or I’ll be freehanding too 😉
