Hey guys,
I hope you are having a good week. It’s such a crazy and scary time right now and I hope everyone is doing their part by staying home. As we head into lockdown I hope you all stay safe. I am going to try and keep things as normal as possible around here.
I saw nail art done with a smoosh and I really wanted to do a smoosh too. So I grabbed the colours I wanted to use and then I had to decide what to do with it. I saw the butterflies and I had an idea. It is a layered stamping image and I wanted to do the inside with a subtle but shimmery shade and sightly off centre for a bit more of a grungy look. It obviously didn’t go quite as planned but let me show you anyway.
I started with the smoosh on all my nails. I used China Glaze – Pixilated, China Glaze – Belle of a baller and China Glaze – Can’t sandal this. I let the smoosh dry and then got to work on the stamping. I usedMoyra 58 – Step by step and stamped the first layer of the butterflies with China Glaze – TTYL. I then stamped the second layer using Color Club – Cherubic and finally the last layer using Mundo de Unas – Back. I stamped the full nail on my index and middle nail and a single butterfly on my ring finger. I topcoated and that was that.
I mentioned that I wanted the subtle stamping with a bit of shimmer and slightly off centre butterflies. I didn’t expect it to be THIS subtle or that it would be hard to see the first layer and therefore the butterflies would be a little more off centre than I expected. In the end I kinda liked it anyway. Maybe it is just because I like how the pink and nude smoosh turned out. What do you think? Fail or good enough?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
That smoosh is awesome! I can see what you mean with the too subtle stamping, but that smoosh… wow!
