Hey hey guys,
I hope your week is going well so far. It’s day 384756483 of lockdown and I am only slightly losing my mind 😉
It’s time for the next instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This has now also been opened up on the aforementioned Facebook group so the inspiration will be shared there one month before the due date. Hopefully there will be a few more new faces joining in as well.
This month it was Briget’s turn to choose and she spoilt us. This is her inspo
Of course I was totally inspired and had a million ideas. Untillll…it went a little pear shaped. Let me show you what I did and then I will tell you how it went.
I started with 2 coats of Essie – Penny talk on my pinky, 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Dark room on my index and 3 coats of China Glaze – Pleather weather on my middle and ring fingers. I left that to dry completely and then I started with the stamping. I didn’t have a stamp that was exactly the same shape but I had all the ‘parts’ to build it. I was worried about my ability to stamp straight but here I go anyway. I stamped using Lina – Feeling shapely 09 and first Essie – Penny talk for the first triangle outline. I then stamped a solid triangle using Mundo de Unas – Back and then another solid triangle using Essie – Penny talk. I topcoated and then used a matte topcoat on the middle and ring finger.
I really enjoyed this and ‘building’ the image with the separate parts. My biggest problem is that it didn’t look nearly as good on any photos than it did in real life. I actually did this on a different base colour first but I also struggled with the photos. So I redid it and hope it would work. This is unfortunately as good as it will get :(. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
This looks so pretty! I wish I had seen this inspiration earlier… I’m very tempted to try my hand at it, especially now you’ve made me remember how good a stamper Penny Talk is 🙂
