Hey guys
I hope you had a fabulous week! Today is another public holiday and also the first day of level 4 lockdown. Woohoo!
It’s time for the next instalment of My polish, your plate. Joyce and I will be challenging each other every first and third Friday of the month. One of us will pick the stamping plate and the other will pick the polish. If we don’t have the exact same polish / plate it can be substituted for something similar. This choice will be made by the person who picked. From there it is free reign as long as the polish and the image on the plate is main focus.
This month it was my turn to choose the polish. I chose OPI – Show us your tips – and Joyce chose the stamping plate – BM-406.
This was also the last nail art I did with the super long nails. I woke up the next morning and my slightly breaking nail was hanging by a sliver. I was considering redoing this but in the end I had to go with it. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of OPI – Show us your tips on my middle and ring finger and 2 coats of OPI – Girls love diamonds on my pinky and index. I then did a sponged gradient on my pinky and index using OPI – Show us your tips and OPI – Girls love diamonds. Once that was finally done (it took a while) I stamped over the gradient using BM-406 and Mundo de Unas – Holland blue. This was very close in colour to Show us your tips. I topcoated everything and that was that.
This didn’t quite turn out the way I had expected. I actually would’ve loved paring this with a creme but because I was in such a slump and dealing with this impending break, I just couldn’t wrap my mind around an idea. Not while keeping this polish and plate as main focus. I bet you Joyce did though. She’s probably created a masterpiece so pop over there to have a look.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
Hehe, it looks like we both struggled a bit ?
I love how we did different manicures this time though, and I wish I had thought of a gradient… so pretty!
