My polish, your plate #11

Hey guys,

Yup, it’s been a while since we’ve had a ‘2 posts in one day’ kind of day!

It’s time for the next instalment of My polish, your plate. Joyce and I will be challenging each other every first and third Friday of the month. One of us will pick the stamping plate and the other will pick the polish. If we don’t have the exact same polish / plate it can be substituted for something similar. This choice will be made by the person who picked. From there it is free reign as long as the polish and the image on the plate is main focus.

This time it was my turn to choose a polish – OPI – Was it all just a dream? – and Joyce got to choose the plate – Lina – Feeling shapely 05. I was very excited about this combination at first but did it go well? Let me show you what I did,

I started with 2 coats of OPI – Was it all just a dream? on my pinky and ring finger and 2 coats of ILNP – Shaved ice on my middle and index. Once it was completely dry I stamped on my middle and ring finger using Lina – Feeling shapely 05 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated and that was unfortunately that.

I actually had a completely different idea in mind the whole time I was thinking about this. As luck would have it I even left it to last minute to do because I was so confident in this idea I had. I was going to start with the same base but stamp the image on my index and middle using first a silver holo and then OPI – Was it all just a dream?. Well, obviously that didn’t work out so well. Once I had done the layering it was barely visible and I even tried it individually. I think there just wasn’t enough contrast. It wasn’t too bad in person but I didn’t think it would show up on camera. Especially with the white background. Anyway, my lame attempt will have to do. Lesson definitely learnt. Don’t wait for last minute!

Obviously we all know Joyce created a masterpiece and probably loves it too. She sure knows how to add pressure that one ;). I’m going to pop over there to see what she did….come with me.
