31DC2014 Day 12: Stripes

Hi lovelies,

Happy Friday!  This has been a long week for me!  I am so happy it is weekend.  Do you have any plans?

I had such a cool idea for stripes today but once again, my eyes were bigger than my ability.  I just struggle to work with a brush.  Instead I am going to blow you away with originality….not.  But I will show you a beautiful polish.  So let’s get to it.

I started off with 2 coats of Revlon – Gold rush and left that to dry completely. Once dry, I used striping tape to criss-cross the lines across my nails.  I then applied Revlon – Fascinate and removed the tape immediately.  I had a bit of issues here because for the life of me I just couldn’t get the order right of the tape.  I had this whole system worked out when applying the tape but when I had to remove it it all fell to pieces.  It was quite a strange thing and I was really annoying myself.  This is also a prompt I spent forever on.  *grumble grumble*

Anyway, can we just take a moment to talk about this gorgeous polish?  Let me show you the polishes I used and tell you what I think.

Revlon – Gold rush

This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a white toned gold foil.  I really like this shade of gold and this one is great.  Great formula and great opacity.

Revlon – Fascinate

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  This is a really good formula.  It’s a little lighter and sheer on the first coat but builds up beautifully on the second. I don’t even know what this polish would fall under.  It’s got the blue to purple duochrome shift and this gorgeous shimmer in it.  You can see it looks a little more purple on the gold and a bit more blue on it’s own.  It is SO gorgeous.

What do you think?  Did my creativity and originality blow you away?  😛 I am just kidding.  I do like it, I just wish my original idea worked out.  Isn’t that polish beautiful?
