Hi lovelies,
The weekend is here!!! And not just any weekend, the long weekend is here!! You have no idea how I am looking forward to the weekend at all. It doesn’t even have to be long. 😉
The season is changing quite quickly and even though I love the cooler months I also really love the summer neon polishes. So I holding onto the last bit of summer with some neon 🙂 I did of course pair it with a nude. Let me show you
I started off with a sponged gradient using China Glaze – That’s shore bright and China Glaze – Highlight of my summer. I was very tempted to stop right there because I love a gradient and a neon gradient is a double win. I pushed through with my idea though and went to work with striping tape. I added strips of tape in various places alternating closer to tip and closer to cuticle. I then covered that with Nails Inc – Porchester square. I wanted it to look a bit like floating stripes but not all of them worked out perfectly. I still kinda like it though. What do you think?
I have shown you a swatch of China Glaze – That’s shore bright and Nails Inc – Porchester square so let me show you the other one.
China Glaze – Highlight of my summer
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a bright neon minty green creme with a decent formula and great opacity. It’s one of those ‘chalky’ neons. It doesn’t need undies but it dries matte and I have to wait a little bit longer between coats to prevent bald spots or patches. No problem for me though. I really really really like this. Neons are notoriously difficult to photograph but this is a really bright neon.
What do you think of this? Does the gradient work in those colours? Does it work with the nude? I hope you have a stunning weekend and I will see you on the other side of it. I was considering taking the weekend off (incl Monday) but I am pretty sure I will be around anyway 😉 I will probably take next Friday (also a public holiday) off though but I will let you know 😉
Thanks for reading,
Juanita

This is SO lovely! I have China Glaze At Vase Value which is quite similar in its vibe to Highlight of my summer, so I will try to pull this design off soon 🙂
