I haven’t been doing much nail art this last week or so. Between being sick and having tons of other stuff to do it has had to take a back seat. I’ve also been testing some of the polishes I haven’t had a change to try on their own yet. Never fear though, I am planning on fixing that soon.
Based on the feedback I got after yesterday’s post the nail posts will continue. If you don’t want to see them let me know and I will clearly mark in the title and you can skip it if you want. 🙂 I will be sharing some colours and brands with you soon as well.
This green stamped I had on was probably one of my favourites. It was so bright! I actually wish I had more neon colours (especially yellow) because I have been dying to do a bright yellow animal print. Anyway, this is Sinful Colors – Irish Green. I put one coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white underneath just to make the green pop a bit more. 2 coats of the green. Then I stamped with Sinful Colors – Black on black and the essence stamping plate. Unfortunately the stamping plates have no identifying numbers so if you want to see what the plate looks like let me know and I will post a photo. Then a top coat (Tip Top Quick Dry)
This one was a spur of the moment one. It wasn’t what I intended to do but once I had the base coat on it just went there. I am a sucker for polka dots. In fact I could have polka dots on my nails every day. I’m sure you’ve noticed. The base here is Essence – Modern romance and the polka dots are Sinful Colors – Ruby Ruby (red) and Sinful Colors – Nirvana (Brown-ish). The Nirvana actually dries to a matte finish but of course I put some Tip Top Quick Dry top coat on so it is all shiny. After doing this I actually realised I should’ve used the red in a drippy fashion because it looks just like the colour of blood. Maybe next time 😉
This one I did yesterday. I really struggled because I wasn’t patient enough. I kept bumping my fingers and having to redo it. It looks awful and I posted it on my instagram asking if it was a yes or no and to be honest most people said it was a no. I don’t really want to share it but it took forever and I am really proud of myself for actually finishing it, on both hands I might add. This was a coat of Essence – Go Bold (which you can see on its own here) and then I used striping tape (and normal tape on my ring fingers). Then it is Essence – Modern Romance over that. This was a mistake because it wasn’t opaque enough and in my attempts to make it a bit more so I just made it look worse. Anyway, it doesn’t look great but as I said, I am super happy with the design and proud that I actually did it. I usually don’t have near enough patience. Next time I will use better colours for sure. Also, the clean up on this one is awful. The patience clearly ran out way before I could clean up everything. Please only look at the design and not the poor execution 😉
That’s about all for now. I am working on a post about top coats that I have tried (and am really impressed with). Also working on a post about cruelty free products. Is that something that influences your choices? Will you stop using a brand if you find out they test on animals? I will share that next week. In the mean time, have a super weekend. I have an assignment to work on (or maybe 2) and some organising to do. Actually, I think my organising might be getting out of hand. I spend hours organising and making lists and reorganising. Oh boy….

I don’t know why everyone voted a no for the nude/gold because it is a big yes to me. I don’t think it’s ugly! I’d actually like to recreate it!!!

Thanks hun!! I actually quite liked it myself. If I did a better job of executing it I might’ve felt better about it. I actually pinned a similar design on pinterest which is what gave me the idea. You should totally recreate it. You would rock it!!
