Continuing my quest to find really fabulous hand/nail creams. I have read so many fabulous reviews about Dirty Works body lotions and body butters so when I saw they had a hand cream I knew I had to try it.
So, to recap: On my mission to find more perfect hand lotions I will use the following method. I will use each hand lotion exclusively for a week. I only have a few requirements when it comes to hand lotion. It must not leave my hands feeling greasy, oily or sticky. It must leave my hands feeling moisturised. It must have a pleasant smell but not too strong. It must be absorbed into my skin and not just create a layer over my skin. I am not clued up ingredients and what it should or shouldn’t have. So none of my decision are based on the science, just on the experience
This is the Dirty Works ‘you soft touch’ hand cream. I bought it at Clicks for R29.95 for 100ml
All you need for silky soft hands! With moisturising Cocoa Butter and Jojoba Oil it’s sure to leave your hands feeling super-silky and non-greasy!
First off, the smell is not as delicious as the Sorbet one I mentioned last week but then I am not surprised. The smell of this cream reminds me a bit of my clay face mask. It is actually a very clean smell and it’s not strong. Already a plus. Once again, you don’t need much of this. The small bit I use spreads well and absorbs really well. I do think if you use lots of product it will take longer to absorb but I think that holds true for most creams and lotions.
I mentioned in the same Sorbet post that I wash my hands often and I always put lotion on after washing. I also have a habit of putting lotion on often throughout the day. This product lets me do that without any less absorbing of the cream. I can use this often throughout the day and it absorbs well every time. It leaves my hands feeling super soft and so moisturised. Even after using it often throughout the day there is no build up, no residue and definitely no feeling of having a layer over my skin. Even after washing my hands they feel soft so I feel like the cream continues to work long after it has absorbed into my skin and I have forgotten about it.
Even though this is not a delicious smell it isn’t off putting. It’s different but still nice. I loved this hand cream. So far it is definitely one of my favourites. I like the fact that it can feed into my obsession habit of applying lotion often throughout the day. Since I started using it I have not once felt that I have too much lotion on or that I need lotion because my hands felt dry. So even if you didn’t have my obsession habit you don’t have to worry about your hands feeling dry.
I really can’t say how much love this hand cream. I am so impressed that I am even going to get the body butter and anything else I can find in this range. Definitely a winner in my opinion. Price / ml is also a huge bargain.
I had a recommendation to try the Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticles Hand Creme. Do you have a hand lotion that you can recommend?

I’m using one of the Oh So Heavenly range from Clicks at the moment, and loving it. It’s the Handy Hygiene hand cream, with Rosemary, Lemongrass and Mint. Smells clean and fresh and absorbs quickly. I drive a lot and work with my hands a lot, so I am very anti-grease when it comes to hand creams, can’t stand slippery / sticky steering wheels and tools!
Haven’t spotted that Dirty Works variety around my neck of the woods, I’ll keep an eye out. Love me some Dirty Works 😉

You won’t be disappointed with this one. I love it!! Ohh I must try that. Thanks for the tip. I hate anything that leaves any residue on my hands. It just makes it feel dirty again. Then I am a little OCD in that way 😛
