The Essence Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 2 range has been out since November 2012. It would seem that I am late to the party but there is some method to my madness. I had to run out to get these as soon as they came out but when I saw them I just knew that they would be perfect for the cooler months.
For me, summer is all about the brights and neons but autumn and winter is when I like to also incorporate the darker hues. These shades are perfect. I had a bugger of a time trying to take photo’s of these. So, please excuse those.
Onto the polishes. I love plain black polish and I think it is so sexy and stylish (even though I don’t often wear it myself). These polishes however have a little something extra. I am showing you three shades of this collection: Alice had a vision…again, Jacob’s Protection and Edward’s Love. They are all black/blackened polishes stacked with flecks of different colours. I had 2 coats of each polish and no top coat. When I show polishes I mostly prefer not to add top coat so that it shows the accurate shine and finish of the polish. These polishes were really thick! I didn’t like that at all but it wasn’t bad. I am just spoilt. I also noticed in some of the photos the polish looks lumpy. They did not look that way in real life. I was actually quite surprised and annoyed when I went through the photos because I have no idea why it is like that. Don’t fret though, at the end of the post I will show you where to see some decent photos.
Alice had a vision….again:
This is a black/ened polish with mostly deep purple flecks. None of my photo’s really show how pretty this polish is. When you’re indoors or in low light it looks like a dark/black polish but the minute a light hits it it is just gorgeous. I had this on when I was in the pool and under the water it was just as gorgeous.
Jacob’s Protection:
This polish is basically the blue brother of Alice had a Vision….Again. Also a black base with a ton of blue flecks. There are also some green flecks in there but predominately blue. This was also very thick and I found it best to wait for each coat to dry before doing another coat. All of these dried really fast through. This is also one of those that truly shines when it hits some light. This was also the worst one for me to photograph.
Edward’s Love:
This is similar to the others but with silver and a few black flecks. I have seen tons of people say this was the least favourite one but I actually liked it. For me it was the most noticeable one. Where the others mostly needed some light to catch the flecks beautifully this one hardly did. Even indoors it looked quite pretty. It’s different.
If you really want to see some beautiful pictures of these polishes then check out this post. You won’t be sorry.
I really like these shades. I am not sure if you need them all because they are so similar but I am happy to have them. I like what they did with the Twilight theme. The sparkly vampires definitely come through in these sparkly polishes. Don’t fret though, even if you are not a Twilight fan you might just like these polishes anyway.
By the way, I have made a Facebook page for this here blog. It’s still really new but it was time. Mostly because I didn’t want to link to my personal profile anymore. Feel free to check it out by clicking on the link in the sidebar or in the header. Or search FB for Ordinary Misift. Ta! 🙂

Trying to fix the email issue, don’t mind me.
Ps: I can actually see a difference in the colours. At first glance I didn’t even think they were different! Liking the new photies 😉

I like the Edward one, it’s my favourite (and not just because I am Team Edward). I can’t quite force myself to put black polish on my fingers, but that looks like something I might try.

Yay!!! I am Team Edward too!! I must admit I prefer that one too because it is so different. It doesn’t look black in low light and is actually quite unique. 🙂
