One of my (many) favourite blogs to follow is Let Them Have Polish. She recently did a guest post on Vampy Varnish that really caught my eye. Admittedly it’s not something I would usually have tried but it looked pretty and I thought I would give it a try. It’s a combination of polka dots (and we all know how much I love those) and taping. Really very do-able.
I obviously don’t have the same polishes she used and made a mistake here and there but I really just used it as an idea. So here is my recreation.
I had a few issues with the glare when taking the photo’s and unfortunately didn’t notice until I went through the photo’s after downloading. It’s nowhere near as awesome as Cristina’s but I actually liked it quite a bit. I love looking at tutorials and other nail designs and trying to recreate them. Or more specifically, I like using them as ideas and adapting them.
I used mostly Tip Top polishes. I will start at pinky (with the solid colour). I dotted with the same colours.
- Pinky – Tip Top – Orange You Lovely (Orange)
- Ring – Tip Top – Triple Putty (Grey-ish)
- Middle – Tip Top Blue Meets Green (Blue)
- Pointer – Tip Top – Lemon Fuel (Yellow)
- Middle line – Tip Top – We Have An Agreen-mint (Green)
- Black – Sinful Colors – Black on Black
This was very bright and colourful and I really liked it. More than I thought I would. I will definitely try it again with other colours too. I already have an idea of what I want to try so look out for that.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was full and busy and tiring but great. I finally got my new iPhone 5 and I am loving it. When I look at my iPhone 4 now I see it in such a different light. How fickle we are 🙂
