There is tons of buzz around blogging and disclosures the last few days. I think it is great that people are talking about it and discussing the implications of sponsored posts, reviews and adverts etc.
I, personaly, would like to know this information when I am reading your blog. It doesn’t bother me if you get free products to review, if you get sent to launches etc. I love reading about it. Just be honest about it and give honest feedback.
Ladybloggers have taken this issue in hand and you can now take the pledge. The pledge means that you will:
- 1. Disclose when they have been sent product for review purposes.
- 2. Disclose when they have been paid to do a Sponsored Post.
- 3. Always be honest to their readers.
I have only once gotten products after I had already been using it for a few months. I do not blog to get free products. I blog about stuff I love, things I like doing and personal stuff. However, I have taken the pledge over at Ladybloggers because I promise to always be honest. I am happy to see so many bloggers have taken the pledge as well and I hope to see many more.
I am also looking forward to seeing some guidelines similar to the US. I think it is great!
You can see the badge in the sidebar on the right. This means I have taken the pledge and you can click on it at any time to see the pledge. This is my promise to always stick to that pledge and be honest in every post.
Thank you Ladybloggers for putting this together. If you want to see some other posts about this topic (more in depth specifically) then have a look at Tanya’s post as well as Cath.
Thanks for reading!

For me, I feel it’s very important to say where you got the goodies from. Also when I get things, I like to credit who I got it from! It’s only fair that they get some limelight!! Well that’s how I feel.

I agree. I want to know because if you are transparent then I can read your post and take your opinion knowing all the facts.

I agree and you know, thinking of it now, why not be honest anyway? It doesn’t matter if you bought it, won it, picked it off the street, but it isn’t a detail to hide
