It’s M.T.V Challenge time again. These topics are getting harder and harder and today is no exception. Black & White and Glitter might sound pretty simple until you actually have to do something with it. For months now I have been lusting after actual black & white glitter and when I saw the challenge had this topic I upped my search. There are a few brands out there but not one single one available to us here. At least none that I can find. Then I got my birthday spoils from V from For the Love of Nail Art and I knew I had the perfect polish for this topic and I can’t wait to show it off.
Here is my interpretation of B&W and Glitter.
I used Sinful Colors – Snow me White on my index finger and then stamped using Essence Stampy polish in black and Pueen03. For all my other fingers I sued Sinful Colors – Black is Back. I then used the most gorgeous pink glitter to create a staggered glitter gradient over the rest of my nails.
The pink glitter is Wet n Wild – Sparkled. It is the most gorgeous glitter ever. It’s also quite dense which means the two coats I used gives almost full coverage )as seen on my pinky). I was also very light handed with it so I can imagine how you can get almost full coverage in 2 – 3 easy coats. And it’s PINK!! *swoon* It is so gorgeous. Thank you so much V for this awesome treat! Just look at it in the bottle. It’s SO gorgeous!
Before I settled on this design I tried something else as well. Here I made a sponged gradient using the same polishes and then put the same glitter over it all with more focus on the black tips.
What do you think of todays topic? How would you have interpreted it?
Go and have a look at what the other ladies involved in the challenge have come up with:
Don’t you just love my pink glitter? I think it is so gorgeous (thank you SO much V!!!).
Thanks for reading!

That glitter is gorgeous! I also love the gradient effect with it! Instead of pink glitter, I would have gone for silver, but the pink works! It really does!

Thank you so much!!! I also think the silver glitter would’ve looked amazing but I HAD to show off the gorgeous pink glitter.

Haha thanks so much. I wish I was better at the glitter gradient thing but at least it semi works here. I love chevrons! My new stamping plates have a bigger chevron design so I am very excited. Thank you so much!

This looks great! Awesome glitter and I love the stamp 🙂 By the way, you can get a B&W glitter from nails inc. Brick Lane from their graffiti collection. I know it’s a little more expensive but I thought it was worth it. There’s a swatch here: http://www.apolishaddict.com/2012/10/nails-inc-graffiti-collection-brick-lane-camden-lock-portobello-place-hoxton-street-swatches.html#.UkqfnqyRlZo

Thanks so much Kerry. I can’t believe in all my hunting I didn’t even once consider Nails Inc. Thanks for the tip. I do see it is black and matte silver but I guess that is close enough.

Oh wow, thank you so much Kerry!! xx
Heidi
Love the gradient one – can I do dots with a thick glitter polish like that?
Michelle Roberts
Thanks my friend!! You should be able to. Depends on how dense the glitter is. Well worth a try!
Lesley
Oh, my goodness! I like the second mani! I also just realized it is kind of similar to Voni’s! 😉
I would have been boring and just put on a black and white glitter, haha. Don’t be too jealous, though…the one I have has a super-thick base, which is kind of annoying.
Michelle Roberts
Thank you so much! Yes you’re right, it is very similar to V’s.
Oh hush you with your black and white glitter. At this point I will be happy with wood glue if it had black and white glitter in it 😛
Siobhan
The first design you went with is perfect! I love the glitter ombre that move up from pinky to middle finger!
You showcased this glitter off perfectly! I’m also glad you like it 😀
Michelle Roberts
Thanks V!! I absolutely adore this glitter. When you take this glitter into the sun it really shines! So gorgeous.
Thea
