Hi lovelies,
Yay for Friday! I hope you have a fun weekend planned. Who cares anyway right? It’s weekend! 🙂
I have a comparison for you today requested by acidicice. The polishes are Tip Top – Hot Fudge and Essence – Crazy Fancy Love. I have my own opinions and favourites but I will let you know after the photos. For now, here are the two polishes:
Tip Top – Hot Fudge
Hot Fudge is a frosty, brown, taupe colour that leans to gold looking. It’s a strange colour but not ugly. I wasn’t a fan of the formula on this one. Even though the colour pay-off is excellent, it was streaky and brush strokey and drove me nuts. This is 3 coats with no topcoat. That is not 3 coats to get it opaque but 3 to try and even out the brush strokes. I am sure a topcoat would’ve evened it out well.
Essence – Crazy Fancy Love
Ive spoken before about Crazy Fancy Love here. Its called a duochrome and I can see it in the bottle but for me, it isn’t very strong on the nail. In certain light I can see it. I think I might prefer it this way to be honest. Formula on this one was a breeze compared to Hot Fudge. This is 2 easy coats with no topcoat.
Let’s compare the colours shall we:
Can you see the difference? In this photo you can see the slight pink flashes of Crazy Fancy Love.
Here they are on the nail wheel as well. Straight on
And at an angle,
They are clearly not dupes. They are very similar though so some might argue you don’t need both. (not me of course, I always say get both 😉 ) In my opinion, if you were only going to get one, I would vote for the Essence – Crazy Fancy Love. The colour has a little bit more depth to it but the part that really won me over, the formula. The Essence one is so much easier and better to apply than Tip Top. This is the first ever Tip Top polish I have used that did not have a flawless application. The finishes are also different. Hot Fudge is a frosty finish and Crazy Fancy Love is not. Essence is a much more metallicy finish.
I guess it would depend what you were after. I hope this post will help you make the decision if you were on the hunt for something like this. What do you think of these polishes? Do you have one of them? I would love to know what you think.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for reading.

Thanks so much for the comparison Michelle. Now I DO need both, because I only have the Tip Top one and I would like something easier to apply! I do also like the pink flash.

You’re welcome 😉
Lesley
Firstly, before I clicked on the full post, I thought, “Damn, I have to tell her how amazing she is for not having brushstrokes with that color!” You say you do, but…I don’t see any! 😉
I am miffed by the name Hot Fudge because 1. it is gold, not brown and 2. it makes me want hot fudge, haha.
I think I like the Essence better just due to the duochrome (and the better formula…and metallic over frost). Although, you are my kind of girl for saying always get both! 😉

hahahahaha Thanks Lesley, your so kind 😛 I also don’t think Hot Fudge is a very apt name at all.
Always get both 😉
