Hi lovelies,
Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week and have an great weekend planned too. It’s my husbands birthday on Saturday so I see cake in my future 😀
I have the last batch of the new Essence polishes to show you today. I showed you some in the first batch and in the second batch. This is the last of the Essence nail polishes I have. Let me start 🙂
Essence – Headphones on!
This is a dark charcoal grey (black?) polish packed with so much silver glitter it’s insane. This is 2 coats with no topcoat. If you look at the photo you can see all multicolour bits? That is the crazy amount of holo glitter in there. It might remind you of another Essence polish. For me, this is the untextured version of Essence – Here’s my number (shown here). A very pretty polish. It was pretty easy to apply even though the polish was a little thicker than others, mostly because of all the glitter. Not impossible to work with at all though.
Essence – Flash powder (sparkling sugar)
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. Really easy and great application. LOVE this one. It does have a texture to it as well. If you remember, last year I compared Essence – here’s my number to Zoya – Dahlia. In that post I mentioned that Here’s my number had holo glitter which Dahlia did not. Well, Flash powder does not have holo glitter either. I really want to say this is almost exactly like Dahlia but I haven’t compared them. So I won’t. 😉
Essence – Hey mister sandman (Sparkling sugar)
Isn’t it pretty! This is a light, bright pink with a sand texture. It also has the larger silver glitter in it. It actually literally looks like coloured sugar at first. I really like the look and texture of this polish and the silver glitter is a great addition. This is 2 easy coats with no topcoat.
Essence – Heart explosion (Sparkling sugar)
I liked this one much more in real life than on the photo. This is a gorgeous berry / cherry red with texture and gold glitter. What I really loved was that it appeared almost jelly-ish with the gold glitter sandwiched in it. I am also convinced this has a berry / sweet smell. This is 2 easy coats with no topcoat. Even though it was fine for me in 2 coats you might want to add a third.
Essence – Skyfall (Metal sugar)
This looks a smidge more blue in the photo than it actually is. This is a teal / light blue / sea green shade with a finer texture. The texture here is almost from the silver and gold glitter. The best way I can describe this one is it looks like a metallic polish painted over sugar. It is super gorgeous. The texture is slightly finer than some of the others I’ve shown you but still great. I love the colour as it is quite different. This is 2 very easy coats with no topcoat. Application was really great with this one. Colour wise, it’s almost a one coater.
Essence – Blue-jeaned (jeans sugar)
This one might be the one I was looking forward to the most and it didn’t disappoint at all. It is one of my absolute favourites. This is a navy / dark blue polish with a very fine texture when you touch it. It doesn’t look very textured though as it looks more suede – or more specifically, jeans – due to the texture and fine silver glitter. To me, it looks so much like jeans. I love this one. This is 2 easy peasy coats with no topcoat. Formula is great and it could also be a one coater. Love love love love this one.
Essence – Get the party started (twinkling stars)
This is a glitter topper that I am using over Essence – Purple sugar. This is one coat. I applied it as I would apply normal polish to get an idea of how the glitter transfers and spreads. This topper is rose gold glitter in various shapes as well as some silver glitter and big purple hexes. As you can see you might have to spread it when applying it doesn’t ‘land’ exactly how you want it to. I also only had one of the big purple hexes curl but I didn’t pay much attention to it so it might have been me. This is really gorgeous. Purple sugar might not the be the best base colour for it but it is gorgeous.
Essence – The bees and the birds (feather effect)
I know this bar glitter / feather effect isn’t for everyone. If you don’t like then move along, don’t look 😉 This one is very light pink and silver bars. 1 coat over Purple sugar again. I am undecided. Love the colour of it, just not sure if I love the effect.
Essence – Jewels in the pool (glitter jewels)
This is a gorgeous blue jelly base packed with blue glitter. This is 3 coats with no topcoat. Unfortunately in some spots you can see it isn’t quite opaque enough. Here is my problem. The polish is slightly thick and packed with glitter so if you are in too much of a rush to do the second (or third) coat then you can actually move the polish underneath creating bald patches. Once I figured this out I just waited a bit longer and it sorted it right out. BUT, you could always wear a blue polish as undies. It is an absolutely gorgeous colour though and if you were careful and a little patient you don’t need the undies. 🙂
Ok I think that is it. What do you think? Any of these appeal to you? Are you going shopping this weekend? Let me know what you get, what you have already gotten and what you absolutely must have. Also, I might have another post or two of goodies coming up. 😉
Thanks for reading,

These are maybe the most playful of the range so far. I would enjoy wearing Get the party started in combination with Purple Sugar, thanks for this idea.

I have to agree with you. So cute and playful. You’re welcome 😉 Thanks for reading!

Aaaah! The post I’ve been waiting for! I am definitely getting blue-jeaned and skyfall…I just can’t have enough blue polishes 🙂 Thank you for the amazing swatches-now I know what they look like out of the bottle so I won’t spend so much time procrastinating in the shop lol
Michelle Roberts
Hahahaha thanks Renita, Blue-jeaned is one of my absolutely favourite and Skyfall closely behind so great choices. Glad to have helped 😉
Suds
Loved loved all 3 posts. Now I know exactly what Im gona be looking for in the shops. I must have skyfall and the jeans one. I have always wanted the Nails inc denim nail polish but it is way to expensive to justify, this looks like it might be a decent substitute.
Did you get all the polishes from the same store? It must be very well stocked. Im going straight after work and hope I get something. So excited! Thanks for the posts.
Michelle Roberts
Thank you so much. I agree, the Nails Inc one was just too expensive to justify. I saw another brand have one at Dischem but I was hesitant to try it, especially once I knew this one was coming. Those two are two of my total favourites so great choices!
Yes I got them all from the same store and I was impressed by the great stock. There are just 3 shades that I really really want but haven’t been able to find it.
Painted Fingertips
I skipped the feather effect this time but I love all the others. Did you get any of the nail candies? I got 2 thinking they were normal pastel colours but they’re super sheer jellies… I was actually wanting some jellies but then I would have preferred slightly brighter colours. I like all the other stuff they brought out though 🙂

I didn’t get any of these candies. I figured they were so many things in one that I didn’t specifically need so I passed. I also have quite a few pastels. Now glad I did. I must say I loved majority of the new products.
Painted Fingertips
Ja they were kind of a disappointment for me. I wish they were EITHER the pastel (I didn’t have such a light purple) OR a jelly but a little brighter! Oh well. They’ve redeemed themselves with all the others. I just put on Headphones On and it’s awesome.

I have to agree with you. But even as JUST pastels it seems a little unnecessary tbh. I wish they would just introduce more pastels in their normal range although they seem to be trending towards that anyway. The original hello marshmallow was a gorgeous pastel purple.
Ohhh Do you love headphones on?

I need headphones on!

I always go for pinks and reds and the like, this weekend was told my skin tone is perfectly suited to aquas etc. So I’ll be needing you to help me ease into that lol.
Michelle Roberts

Headphones On!, Flash Powder, Hey Mister Sandman, Skyfall, and Jewels in the Pool are my favorites of these. You super-scored with all these new goodies! 😉
Michelle Roberts
Hahahahaha I did indeed. I have been so excited about them coming that when they arrived I couldn’t control myself. I’m such a weakling. No willpower. 😛
