Essence – Me & My Ice cream polishes

Hi lovelies,

Well #DBNBloggermeet happened and it was EPIC!!  I promise to tell you all about it really really soon.  I just need to catch my breath and unpack some of the awesomeness that was our goodie bags.  In the mean time, I finally got my hands on the Essence Me & my ice-cream collection.  Hugely thanks to Jane who let me know as soon as she spotted it in a store nearby.  This collection has been super elusive and it feels like the whole world has been waiting for it to hit the shelves.  I can see why!

Essence – Ben & Cherries

This is a very light pink packed with shimmer.  It’s not so easy to see on the nail in these pics but you can see it in the bottle.  This is 3 coats with no topcoat.  The formula was nice and thin so I could get nice thin coats.  It is very streaky on the first coat and the second was a little better but the third really evened it out beautifully.  I think if you had thicker coats you could easily get away with two coats.  This is really beautiful even though I wouldn’t mind if it was just a pinch pinker.

Essence – Always in my mint

This is also 3 coats with no topcoat.  Beautiful green minty colour packed with shimmer.  I am a little obsessed with this one 😉  Formula is the same as Ben & Cherries (and all the others too) nice and thin but streaky at first.  It is a beauty!

Essence – Ice, ice baby

This is also 3 coats with no topcoat.  The shimmer in this one was even more evident than any of the others.  Nice and thin so great application even though it was streaky at first.   This soft lilac is just beautiful!  I know this is going to be a favourite too.

Essence – Icylicious

This is also 3 coats with no topcoat.  A beautiful soft peachy colour packed with shimmer.  I had a little accident on my bottle.  When I opened it the rim of the bottle was broken and a big chunk of the rim broke off.  I am so sad.  Not because I don’t want to buy another one but because these have been so hard to find that I am not sure if I will get another one.  Hold thumbs!!  Anyway gorgeous polish and pretty much the same as the others in formula and application.

I really enjoyed these and I can see why they were so highly anticipated.  I was a bit sad when I started and it was so streaky but that was sorted out chop chop with another coat.  Like I mentioned, I had really thin coats so if you had thicker coats  you could easily get away with 2.

What do you think of these?  Have you spotted them yet?  I’d love to hear what you think.  Or what else from this collection you are after?  I have a few other pieces from this collection that I am eager to get my hands on as well.
