Hi lovelies,
It’s the weekend! Although with all the public holidays it has felt like one big weekend anyway. We have one last public holiday next week for the presidential elections and then it’s all back to normal for a while. I hope you’ve all had fabulous mini breaks!
I really love neon and nude together. This originally started as something completely different . I wanted to make a stamping decal but failed epically. I was considering starting over when Thea from Madness Nails suggested I do a neon splatter over the nude. I have never done a splatter before so I thought why not? Well, because splatter takes skill! That’s why not. I didn’t completely hate it though so here it is.
As you can see it looks more like neon camo than neon splatter but hey, whatever works right? 😉
I started with 2 coats of Essence – Cafe Ole on all my nails. Once that was completely dry I added the green and purple neon studs from BornPretty Store. (Find them here). Then I did the splatter (camo?) with Tip Top – Grape dance and Tip Top – Let the beat grow on. I clearly need to practice the while splatter thing. Do you have any tips for me?
I really love how the neon just pops against the nude. I’ve also wanted to combine the purple and green since I saw the two bottles next to each other. Don’t they look great together?
What do you think of this? Do you like the neon and nude together?
Thanks for reading,

Love the colours! Haven’t done splatter myself, but I know you have a splatter stamp somewhere 😛 Since you’re such an awesome stamper, try that next time 😛

Thank you! Yes you are right, I do have a splatter stamp. I must definitely try it as well. I wonder if I could use multicolours and get the same effect as here. Must try.

Beautiful idea! I would have never thought to pair neons with nude.

Thank you so much Yana, I love neon and nude together.

Love the color combo!
I did splatter once and it came out OK…could still do better. Use really small straws (I used coffee stirrers) and don’t do it too close to the nail (or else it looks very “splat-y”).

Thanks so much Lesley, good tips. I must try to find thinner straws because I think that was my problem. I was super nervous to try this but now I am ken to try again. 🙂
