Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday! I hope you are well rested after all the public holidays we have had lately. Just one more to go on Wednesday for the elections so another semi short week for everyone. I love public holidays 😀
I was beyond thrilled when Thea from Madness Nails told me the Essence Vintage District collection was out at Dischem. Unfortunately I didn’t get to Dischem until recently. Dischem is quite out of the way but recently Dischem opened at Pavilion, which means it is now just around the corner. Anyway, as luck would have it I wasn’t able to get the one I was most looking forward to. I could only find 3 and the one I couldn’t find is Essence – Vintage pink. Let me show you the other 3.
Essence – Vintage peach
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a peachy orange (almost mustardy) creme that is very opaque. Great formula made for easy application. I wasn’t sure this was going to be a favourite but I actually really really like it. It’s a little different.
Essence – Shopping @Portobello road
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a teal-ish creme. In the photo it leans more blue but in other lighting it leans a bit more green. It is really quite pretty. I did have some staining of the skin but it didn’t stain my nails. I didn’t wear it for very long though so I would double up on base coat just in case. Also very opaque.
Essence – Get arty
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. it is a really pretty grey packed with pink / coppery shimmer. It has a nice density of shimmer but in the sun this really shines. It is a little more subtle indoors or in the shade but still quite visible and gorgeous. Definitely a favourite. Once again, very opaque.
What do you think of this collection? Do any of these stand out for you? Do you have any of them? I am a little sad I don’t have the Vintage pink.

These look pretty enough but nothing mindblowing. I think essence did a much better job with all the new colours in their range update than with any of the limited collections lately

You are absolutely right. I think the range updates were much nicer than the recent two trend editions. It doesn’t help that we didn’t get more exciting trend editions. There are some really lovely trend editions we are missing out on. BUT I guess some is better than none. That being said, these are nice.

OK, I am in love with Vintage Peach. IN LOVE.

Right? It’s the little unsuspecting surprise in the bunch. It’s quite different but I love it! Thanks for reading!

I actually bought two bottles of Get arty when it came out here! Loove that hidden shimmer 🙂

I agree. Super unique! Thanks

I feel like none jump out at me hey. The grey is alright though. They’re just so average to me
Michelle Roberts
They are pretty average if you compare them to some of the other stunning polishes out there. But I didn’t hate them and Vintage peach is quite unique to me. Get arty too, with that shimmer. Thanks V! xx
