31DC2014 Day 25: Inspired by fashion

Hi lovelies,

You guys, this challenge is hard!  It is starting to slowly kick my bum.  I am here though and that is all that matters right?

When I started to look at ideas for todays prompt I was looking at all the ‘best dressed’ celebrities at recent awards ceremonies and their was no shortage of inspiration.  After giving it some more thought I decided to rather go with something a little more unconventional.  I mean the chances were high that a lot of people would take a best dressed look right?

This is what I decided on:

There was a lot of controversy about this dress and no one seemed to think Lena Dunham looked good in it.  I can say it makes for good nail art inspiration.  This is what I came up with.

I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white and when that completely dry I taped a section and added Tip Top – Melting marshmallow.  I carried on doing this using Tip Top – Flamenco pink and Essence – Fame fatal.  When it was done, topcoat and voila.  I wanted to create the angled lines on my ring finger to represent how the dress draped at the back was hanging a bit longer.  Flamenco pink also looks a little more orange toned here than it actually is.  It’s slightly more pink toned but of course, my camera didn’t love it.

So what do you think? Does it look kinda like the dress?
