Happy Heritage day if you are in South Africa. I hope you are enjoying your day off. What a lovely mid week break.
Today’s prompt is inspired by a book and for me it was a no brainer. I actually wanted to use Rainfall by Melissa Delport but after reading The Legacy by Melissa Delport I was torn about which one I wanted to use. In the end I was completely inspired by The Legacy cover.
I loved this book so much and how beautiful is that cover? I knew I wanted to use it but of course there was the question of skill level – as usual. Here is what I came up with.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Black on black on all my nails except my pinky. On my pinky I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Anchors away to represent the colour of the name on the cover. On my index and middle I wanted to represent the skyline that is at the bottom of the cover. I used BM414 and Essence stampy polish in white to stamp the skyline. I then went back over it with Essence stampy polish in black and stamped the same image over the white. I failed a little on my middle nail. On my ring finger I wanted to create the profile face and after trying a few times to freehand it I realised it might work better to stamp it. I used Pueen70 and Essence stampy polish in white and tried to only get half of the face on my nail. I know it’s not exactly on point but it’s the best I could do.
What do you think? Better question, have you read the book yet? Go read more about it here if you’re interested.
