Hi lovelies,
Happy Friday! It’s finally weekend! Do you have any weekend plans? We have quite a busy one lined up so not much relaxing but it’s bound to be fun!
It’s that time again. If you haven’t seen any of these or want to know what it’s all about you can find the first post here.
This month is was MamaZombie‘s turn and boy did she up the challenge. The ‘summer skittle’ theme had us debating and questioning what our definition of a skittle was. It was definitely interesting 😉 Eventually we could all agree that a skittle is each nail different. Either in colour or design or both. It also had me scrambling for ideas. I just did not know what I wanted to do. I did do one and then questioned it to no end. I scratched that and came up with this and I really loved it. So let me show you.
Firstly, I am a little disappointed that the NEON part didn’t show up as amazingly (because we all know how hard it is to photograph neons right?) so when you look at this look at it with you neon glasses on 😛
Let’s start with my pinky. I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Flip flop fantasy and when it was dry I used tape and China Glaze – Highlight of my summer on half of the nails. Once that was completely dry I used the topcoat to stick the purple studs from Born Pretty Store.
On my ring finger I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Don’t honk your thorn and left that to dry completely. I then used the same 3 neon colours and 3 different size dotting tools to make the random dots. Topcoated and done.
On my middle nail I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Don’t honk your thorn and left it to dry completely. I then used striping tape to tape off the sections to make thicker and thinner stripes diagonally across the nail. Then I used a small nail art brush and the 3 neon colours in alternating order. I removed the tape as soon as I could after doing each side. Topcoated and done.
On my index I stayed with just 2 coats of China Glaze – Flip flop fantasy with topcoat. I liked it so much I am going to share another photo 😛
What do you think? Qualifies as a skittle doesn’t it? I really hope so! I can’t wait to see what the other ladies come up with. We are such suckers for punishment because we decided to not show each other our nails and reveal them all today. Eek!! Don’t forget to check them all out in the inlinkz thingum below.
