Happy Friday! It is indeed a very happy Friday. It has been a good and full week and I am ready to just chill! And by chill I mean do my nails and play with all my new goodies. :D. What do you have planned for the weekend?
I showed you the new polishes from the Essence range update on Wednesday and today I am showing you a few more. I am showing you the The Gel polishes additions. I was going to show you the Metal Shock nail powders but I wasn’t happy with the photo’s but I will tell you more about that later. For now, let’s get cracking with the polishes.
Essence – Call me Kylie
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a red toned brown creme. It has a really nice and easy formula and is almost a one coater, depending on your application (I always recommend 2 coats though). I am a little unsure how I feel about the colour but it has an appeal to it. I expected a more nude brown once it had dried but it’s still brown. I think this will be amazing in autumn and winter.
Essence – Loyal royal
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. Holy smoke on toast this polish is life. I am utterly obsessed and in love. I am not sure if this is a green, gold, yellow, what the heck but it is gorgeous and everyone should have it. Seriously though, this is like a dark moss green with yellow undertones and a gold shimmer. At least that is how I would describe it. It has a stunning formula and is basically a one coater. Two coats definitely gives the shimmer more depth. I adore this polish!
Essence – Midnight sky
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a royal blue with blue and violet shimmer. This blue also looks purple in some light so this is the true Blurple right here. It is ridiculously gorgeous and I see tons of nail art with this in the future. It applies beautifully and is super opaque too. If Loyal Royal isn’t really your scene then this one definitely is!
Essence – Rosewood forest
This s 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a nude with pink undertones creme. I swear these Essence polishes just get more opaque every time new ones come out. This is almost a one coater and is deliciously easy to apply. This is a beauty and should be in everyones stash.
Ok, let’s chat about the Metal Shock nail powders. I swatched them and used the Metal Shock topcoat (which is waterbased). In real life it looked great but once I saw the photos – being so extreme close up – I noticed that there were a few bubbles and….bits….stuck in the topcoat. I noticed when I was applying it that it seemed like I had shaken it because it had a lot of like air bubbles in it. It seceded fine once I applied it but I can only imagine that these did leave little air bubbles when it was drying OR it picked up little bits on the neck of the bottle as I was applying it. In short, the powders all work on regular polish and they look pretty. Some are much nicer than others but they’re not bad. I can’t say for sure what happened with the topcoat so all I can say is, keep an eye out for bubbles or bits when you apply it in case it wasn’t just me.
What do you think? Which one is your favourite? Have you grabbed any of the new Essence range updates? Which ones are you grabbing first? I must admit the Holo Rainbow polishes and Loyal Royal with Midnight Sky are possibly my favourites so far. Have a great weekend and I will see you on the flip side
