Happy Friday! Happy end of July! Yeah I know, where has the month gone right? I am still ‘easing into the year’ and we are waaaaay past half way through it. Good grief! It is weekend though and that is just dandy with me!
It’s finally time for another Nail Anarchy challenge post. A few months ago, I think as early as January, we all decided to have a bit of a Christmas in July secret santa thingum between us. The excitement was ridiculous and all the secrecy and wishlisting and nosing for information. About half way through I was fairly certain that I had already figured out who was paired with who and that made it even more fun to watch. Of course I was pretty spot on with my guesses – even who was my secret santa.
We finally got our boxes early July and even though we had all planned to open our boxes together, had tested video calling a few times and planned the time down to a fine art, it all went for a ball of chalk when we all actually finally had our boxes. One was in the car travelling, I had zumba. So we all just opened it as we could and shared a hundred photos in the group. I swear I could hear squeals and ‘OMG’ as if they were all right next to me. It really was like a special christmas morning.
I do think that I got the best box ever though. I almost feel a little protective of my box. My secret santa was none other than Thea! You guys, I get a little emotional when I think of it again. She personalised my box like a boss. From the moment I opened it. With little notes, little jokes, personal info she magically got from me. She nailed it in such an epic way. My heart is so full of happy when I look at one of the little notes or think of the effort she put into it. I am sorry ladies, but my box was the epic box of epicness. Bok, I don’t have the words to tell you how much it means to me. I hope you know the love I have for you!
So let me give you a teeny peak at my box and then I will tell you what was inside. (See, I am very possessive and protective of my box)
In my box, besides the love and personal touch and feels and magic, was this:
- China Glaze – What a pansy
- China Glaze – Secret peri-wink-le
- China Glaze – I’m with the lifeguard
- Sinful Colors – Daddy’s girl (Squeeeeeee)
- Color Club – Baldwin blues
- Color Club – Foil me once
- Color Club – Antiquated
- Wow – #393
- a 3D acrylic mould for roses
- a chocolate
- tons of love
- aaaaaaand my favourite….a unicorn necklace and earrings. Yes, a UNICORN!!!!
Guys, this might be my most prized possession right now. I am so obsessed and in love with this little unicorn I could just die. Is it not the cutest thing you have ever seen? Not only is it PINK and GLITTERY but it is a UNICORN!!! *swoon*
See, Thea is a magical secret santa!!
Ok so onto the nails. The theme was obviously Christmas in July. And using stuffs from out boxes. I won’t lie, I felt completely out of my depth here. Perhaps it is because I can’t muster a single christmas thought. I did mention how it feels like I am still easing into the year right? I can’t possibly be thinking of Christmas already! But maybe it was just because I was so focused on using stuffs from my box that I didn’t really think it through well. I felt very overwhelmed and did this all VERY last minute. Once I was done I didn’t like it at all but I also realised I don’t have much time to do something else. So in order to have something to post today, here is my christmas in July nails. Or better known as…..
Pinkmas in July!
On my ring finger I started with 2 coats of Wow #393 and on all my other nails I started with 2 coats of Color Club – Foil me once. You guys, how gorgeous is this? Anyway, Once that was all dry I stamped on my pinky using BM321 and MoYou stamping polish in black. On my index I stamped using QA 19 and MoYou stamping polish in black. On my middle and ring I wanted to create ‘presents’ so I used my thin nail art brush. On my middle finger I used Wow #393 to make the ribbon and bow. On my ring finger I used Color Club – Foil me once to make the ribbon and bow. I then topcoated everything and that was that.
As I mentioned, I didn’t love it. I do however, LOVE these polishes! Let me show you the Color Club
Color Club – Foil me once
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a GORGEOUS pink foil with a stunning formula and opacity. I am obsessed with this. It’s so shiny and sparkly and perfect! *swoon*
What do you think? Don’t you think I had the best box ever?! How gorgeous are these polishes? AND MY UNICORN!!!!!! *dies*
