31DC2015 Day 30: Inspired by a tutorial

Hi lovelies,

Just like that we have come to the end of another month.  I don’t know why the end of September makes me a little sad but I am sad to see it go.  From here it is just downhill to the end of the year.  

You can follow everyone taking part by using the #31DC2015.  I am going to be keeping my posts short and sweet throughout the challenge so that it means more time to get cracking with the prompts 😉   Here are the prompts for this year.

I don’t have to tell you how many amazing tutorials are out there.  I do have a few favourites though and when I saw this tutorial from Adventures in Acetone I just knew I wanted to do it.  My original intention was to ‘recreate’ it as best I could but I ran into a few problems.  So instead of recreating it I was ‘inspired by’ this tutorial.  I changed up a few colours and the images – thanks the advise from Briget – but the premise is the same.  Let me show you what I did.

I started with a coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white.  When that was completely dry I did a sponged gradient using Tip Top – Cha cha cha and China Glaze – Recycled and left that to dry completely.  I then stamped using BM315 and MoYou stamping polish in white.  I topcoated that and left it to dry completely while I made the decals.  For the decals I stamped using BM317 and MoYou stamping polish in black.  I then filled in the hearts using China Glaze – Seeing red for the creme and China Glaze – Ruby pumps for the shimmer.  Once they were dry I applied the decals to my nails, topcoated and that was that.

What do you think?  I looooooooooved the colour combinations (Thanks B) and I really loved it before the decals as well.  I know I didn’t have the same polishes or tools to recreate the tutorial but I was definitely inspired by it to create this.
